Summer!!

I write this between my work. We just passed the date of June 1, and it
is really summer now. Summer 2007!!
Last week I went to Wageningen and when I left the highway at Ede I saw
beautiful blood-red poppies blooming at the shoulder of the road. So I
stopped to make a picture of them by my mobile. These flowers show me
that summer has started. Spring is over now, and poppies are blooming in
my memory between the grain on the fields. The grain which is going to
ripen during the summer as well. Spring is over: it makes me a bit sad!!

This is a time of the year in which I normally am very busy in my work.
Urging to finish a lot of things of the "running year", and in the same
time preparing new activities for next year. It is the time in which I
know that I can not start new activities: I just have to finish
"everything" as good as I can. It gives an unpleasant feeling, because I
don't have enough time left to enjoy this beautiful time of the year, to
watch the flowers, and nature. Also: not enough time to spend to my
friends and family. Every year I promise myself to do it better next
year, but every time I stumble into it again.
I hope to improve myself once, but don't know when!! Don't get the
impression that I am depressed or so, because I'm not!! I enjoy my work,
enjoy the students, my colleagues. Yesterday I appeared that even in
summer things can be surprising. Suddenly we found frog eggs in the pond
in our garden. I expected this time to be over yet, but nature has it's
own rules!! :-) The frogs were already active for some day's and there
was the result!! I have put some of the eggs in a small aquarium in my
study. Hope to see them develop. When they are fully developed, I'll put
them back again in the pond.
Now I'm continuing my work again........ Hoping to make good progress
today and in the rest of this week that just begun!! :-) Wishing to
have my eyes and ears and all my senses open to absorb nature as it
is!!!!! Nature means LIFE, nature is US!!
