Rain again :-)

Last week we had our May holiday!! One of the nicest holidays in the year, because all in nature is new!! :-) Every day you see little plants grow, the butts of the trees develop slowly, and flowers show there delicate color. This time the holiday was very warm and sunny. In fact it hasn't rain since March 22 (my birthday), so the soil is terrible dry. The touch clay in my garden is dried so strong, that the ground is completely cracked, and I can put my hand in the cracks in the ground. Still most of the plants do well, because there roots go deep, and the soil still contains water for the plants.
I prefer not to water them too much. Especially because I don't like to spill good drinking water to the plants, but also the plants will do better when they root deeper themself!! Makes them stronger, and opens the soil.
Only plants in pots have to be watered daily.
Personally I enjoyed the sun very well. Took time to lay in a very lazy way in the sun, and in the mean time, finishing my book about "The Amber Room", which I have been working on so long now. I like the subject: "Amber", the color, the structure, the history, the mystery :-)
Last Monday it started raining!! That was really necessary, farmers were waiting for a long time. The water came down in a regularly and constant way, the best way for the soil and the plants. But it is surprising how soon I start disliking the weather!! :-) Sun is not boring, even when it shines for weeks, but a few day's of rain is boring immediately!!
Yesterday I visited the City Farm in Almere. There I saw this sign on the wall of the shed!! One of the lines said: "Praying for rain" !!! (Third line) It certainly helped!! :-)
