Nature changes in funny directions

This morning, when I was looking outside, the garden was white with snow. Actually very strange, because springflowers are already blooming, and yesterday I saw two pigeons together, like they were planning to build a nest :-)
Still it looks so nice to see the whole garden covered with a thin layer of powderly snow. The sunlight was shining under a low angle, providing nice beams of light between the branches of the tree ( a prunus, which is also blooming!). A blackbird jumped on the ice on the pond, and tried to find some open water behind some plants: and found it as well!
For me a nice chance to make some photographs, especially now the sky is clear and blue and the sun is still shining.
Sometimes this nature can surprise us in a positive way. Whatever we think about changements in climate, and we worry about that: still nature shows her beauty. The only thing we have to do is to watch!!! and smile :-))

Spring Holiday 2005

It seems a bit strange to have Spring Holiday in the middle of February. Temperature is below zero (But actually we didn't have any winter at all).
Holiday means: not going to work, getting used to be at home, coping with: not being productive! For me that's always a strange, and confusing time. First day's I have to get used to it, and after a few day's I'm getting more relaxed. I even feel lazy in the beginning! :-)
It feels like I am riding a train during the whole year. During this kind of Holiday's the train stops at one of the stations, and I get out to have a look on the platform. That is one of the moments on which I can look besides the train in the front, and see where we are heading to: the future destination! Also to look back for the scenery we have passed, my history!
In fact it is a very good thing for myself, and every time again I tell my self to stop more often to be able to look around the train. But: everytime again I notice that I don't. :-(
Next week the journey will continue, and the train is leaving again. I hope it will be a slow train, that stops very often so I will be able to see the scenery of my life more intensively :-)
Anyway, don't think that I feel sad about it, because I like to work. To meet my colleagues and to work together with our students. That is always a pleasure!!
